Urus festival: Holiday for schools and government offices tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram : Urus festival in Beemappally will be celebrated tomorrow, February 7th. The 11- day Urus festival is held to commemorate the death anniversary of Saint Sayyidhathunissa Beema Beevi and her son Ashaikhu Sayidushaheed Maheen Aboobaker who were laid to rest at the Dargah Shereef. Also known as Chandanakudam Mahotsavam the festival starts on the first of Jama dulAkhir of Hijra Calendar and continues for the next ten days. Considering the importance and participation of people, The government has announced holiday for schools and government offices tomorrow.
