This generation ‘Mahanati’ of South films, Keerthy Suresh to make Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgan

Keerthy Suresh, the most sought actress in the South Indian film industry is all set to maker Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgan. The film that traces the life and time of Indian football player and coach, Syed Abdul Rahim.

Amit Sharma the director of Badhaai Ho will direct the movie. It wil be produced by Boney Kapoor, the biopic will also chronicle our national football team’s glory from 1950 to 1963. While Ajay will essay Syed’s role, Keerthy will play his wife in the film.

On bagging the role and finally making inroads into Bollywood, Keerthy told that “I am elated and honoured to be a part of such a great story. This is a film that will make every Indian proud. I believe this is a story that doesn’t belong to any specific region or language of India but is a great Indian story that the world should know.”

She is fluent in Hindi and confident that she will have no issues picking up dialogues. The shoot will begin from June and Keerthy is expected to join the sets a month later. By then, she hopes to relieve herself of all her current commitments.

Last seen opposite Vijay in AR Murugadoss’s Tamil political drama Sarkar, Keerthy is currently shooting for Priyadarshan’s upcoming magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham starring superstar Mohanlal. The film marks Keerthy’s comeback to Malayalam cinema after five years.

There are also reports that Keerthy has signed a multilingual film with filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor. Official announcement regarding this project is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Keerthy Suresh is the daughter of Malayalam actress Menaka and film producer Suresh. She rose fame after essaying the role of South Indian actress Savitri in ‘Mahanati’ opposite Dulquer Salman.
