In addition, the minister announced plans to enlist police assistance in the collection of contact data related to the outbreak.

Efforts will involve scrutinizing mobile tower location data and CCTV footage. Nineteen teams are currently engaged in compiling the contact list for all confirmed Nipah cases, with completion expected in the coming days. Central teams will continue their inspections, and teams from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV) will conduct field visits.

The health condition of individuals undergoing treatment in hospitals remains satisfactory, including a child showing signs of improvement. An investigation is ongoing into the death of a pig in the Janakikkad area of Maruthonkara panchayat, where Nipah virus cases have been confirmed.

Meanwhile, in Thiruvananthapuram, a sense of relief prevailed as a medical student tested negative for Nipah virus. The student, who had traveled from Kozhikode, had been admitted for observation due to fever.
