Munnar Welcomes Tourists with Enchanting Misty Mornings: Explore December Packages by KSRTC

As winter unfolds its chilly embrace, the captivating hill station of Munnar is casting its spell on visitors with serene misty mornings. On Tuesday, the hill station experienced a drop in temperature to 6 degrees Celsius, creating a frosty ambiance that adds to the charm of the region. Notably, areas like Lakkad, Kundala, and Chenduvara witnessed morning temperatures around 6 degrees, while places like Mattupetty, Kannimala, and Thenmala recorded 7 degrees Celsius. In the heart of Munnar Town and the Nalla Thanni area, the temperatures were slightly higher, reaching 9 degrees Celsius.

Adding to the allure, Munnar is also reporting enchanting snowfall during both mornings and evenings. With tourists eager to celebrate Christmas and New Year amidst the cold beauty of Munnar, hotels and resorts in the area are witnessing a significant surge in bookings for the upcoming season, according to Vinod Vattekkattu, Managing Committee Member of Kerala Travel Mart. Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing at hotels in Vagamon and Thekkady to welcome guests during the approaching winter season.

Explore Munnar’s Winter Beauty with KSRTC Packages

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced two enticing winter packages for Munnar: the Vagamon–Munnar trip and the Munnar–Kanthalloor trip. The Vagamon–Munnar journey departs every Friday at 7 pm from Kannur KSRTC depot, reaching Munnar by Saturday at 6 am. The itinerary for the first day includes Pine Valley Forest, Vagamon Meadows, Adventure Park, and more, while the second day features Chathurangappara View Point, Gap Road View Point, Anayirangal Dam, and other attractions. This package is priced at Rs 4,100.

For those seeking the Munnar–Kanthalloor adventure, with seats available on December 8 and 27, the journey starts at 7 pm from the Kannur depot. Day one covers Eravikulam National Park, Marayoor, an off-road safari with various viewpoints, and a campfire. The following day, tourists can explore Irachilpara and Periyakanal Waterfalls, various fruit orchards in Kanthalloor, and more. This enchanting experience is offered at Rs 2,960.
