Malayalam dubbing artist and actor Anandavally has breathed her last

Anandavally (62) dubbing artist and actor of Malayalam film industry has breathed her last at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.

She has worked in more than 3000 films as a dubbing artist. She even shed voice many times for several characters in a movie. Her voice modulation and way of dubbing kept her a versatile artist.

Anandavally used to sing for dramas even while a teenager. But unexpectedly, her acting skills were put to test in front of a large audience during for the drama “Chithalu Kayariya Bhoomi” in 1969. Then she started performing in several dramas of KPAC.

Her debut film as an actor was ‘Eanippadikal’. She ventured into dubbing by giving voice to Rajasree in the movie ‘Devi Kanyakumari’ in 1974

Anandavally had won several awards including the Kerala State Film Award for best dubbing artist. She won the award for ‘Aadhaaram’ released in 1992

Anandavally last dubbed for Saradha in ‘Mazhathullikkilukam’. Besides movies, she also had dubbed for television serials and had worked as an announcer in All India Radio.

Late film director Diphan was her son who engraved his signature by doing films like ‘Puthiyamukham’, hero etc…

It is definitely a great loss to the Malayalam film industry.
