India’s Ambitious Space Vision: Moon Landing and Space Station by 2040, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to assess the progress of the Gaganyaan mission, aiming to send humans into space. During the meeting, the Indian government revealed its bold space objectives, outlining plans to send an astronaut to the moon by 2040. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need to establish the ‘Bharatiya Antariksha Station’ (Indian Space Station) by 2035, marking a pivotal step in India’s space exploration endeavors.

India’s space endeavors received international acclaim when it achieved a historic feat by landing a spacecraft near the unexplored south pole of the moon. This achievement made India the first country to accomplish such a landing, following a failed Russian mission, and the fourth nation overall to achieve a soft lunar landing.

To realize these ambitious goals, the Indian space department will craft a detailed roadmap for moon exploration. Additionally, under Modi’s guidance, scientists have been directed to work on future missions to explore Venus and Mars, underscoring India’s increasing prominence in the global space arena.
