Donal Trump’s Facebook account banned for 2 years

Former US President Donald Trump’s Facebook account will continue to be banned for another two years. Facebook also made it clear that it would check whether the ban should be lifted only after this. Twitter and YouTube had banned Trump’s accounts besides Facebook following the violence at US Capital. Social media attributed the ban to Trump’s words supporting violence.

The violence at US Capital was on January six. Trump supporters were aiming to disrupt a congress session to recognise Joe Biden’s victory in the US presidential election. They claimed that the election had been rigged and that Trump had won. Trump was also accused of supporting the violence through social media notes.

The company’s Oversight panel has issued a statement confirming the removal of former US President Donald Trump’s account from the social media site Facebook for inciting capital riots.

Trump was temporarily removed from Instagram and Facebook after he told the rioters in a video message, ‘ We like you

You’re very special.’ Twitter has imposed a lifetime ban on Trump, saying he can repeat such incidents again
