Asif Ali’s Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha reminds us of uneducated men of 80’s

Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha has released on 22nd November. It is a Malayalam drama movie, directed by Nizam Basheer. The movie stars Asif Ali and Veena Nandhakumar in the lead roles.

The film is ruling the movie halls with its content and the commentable performances of the lead cast.

Plot

Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha revolves around the life of a not so educated innocent youngster Sleeva, played by Asif Ali. Located in Idukki, the film carries all spices and flavours of the hilly area. Be it their lifesty, mannerism, way of talking, everything highlights the area they live.

The film takes another turn when the central character agrees for getting married. The crazy thing is that he shows his consent for a married life just for the sake of his aged mother.

The struggles of a well mannered yet passionate wife has shown throughout the second half . The film starts to bore or entertain us when the protagonist is shown over innocent or literally stupid . This is the turning point of this film.

Performance

The lead cast has shoen thei caliber in their characters of Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha. Everyone did a good job.

Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha – Verdict

Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha comes with a message. But its relevance in 2019 is debatable. If it is viewed through the female perspective it makes more sense. But it was really absurd to digest some scenes.

A very lagging first half and a very live second half might be the main reason the film to gather so much positive reviews from the public.

In a way the ‘message factor’ of the film can be considered as a message for women to be careful in choosing your life partner, especially if he seems way too innocent. Keeping the pros and cons of the plot aside, the film is technically very good.
