Massive Fire Destroys 25 Boats in Visakhapatnam Jetty Area

In the early hours of Monday, a massive fire erupted in the jetty area of Visakhapatnam, resulting in the destruction of at least 25 fishing boats. The cause of the fire, which started around 1 am and was successfully extinguished by 4 am, remains unknown, with investigations underway.

The incident occurred in the town jetty area where fishing boats were anchored. Firefighters, upon receiving the information about the blaze, swiftly responded to the scene. A total of 12 fire tenders were deployed, and assistance was sought from the National Disaster Response Force and the Visakhapatnam Port Trust to contain the fire.

Visakhapatnam District Fire Officer S Renukayya confirmed that there have been no reported casualties at this time. The prompt response from emergency services helped prevent the fire from causing further damage or harm.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and authorities are assessing the extent of the damage caused to the fishing boats in the Visakhapatnam jetty area.
