COVID-19; Kerala reports eight new cases on Tuesday

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja on Tuesday said that 8 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in the state. Out of the 8 persons, 4 are from Kannur, 3 from Kozhikode and one is from Kasargod.

While 5 out of the 8 persons had recently returned from abroad and the others contracted the disease through contact, the minister said. She also added that 13 infected persons have tested negative on Tuesday. As of now, a total of 211 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

At present, 173 people are undergoing treatment for coronavirus at various hospitals in the state. Out of the 1,07,075 people under observation in the state, 1,06,511 people are home quarantined while 564 people are admitted to hospitals.
