‘India Poised to Emerge as Global Economic Power,’ PM Modi Declares at BRICS Summit 2023

During the opening session of the BRICS summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India’s steady progression toward achieving the status of a significant economic superpower within the coming decade.

In his extensive address, which spanned approximately ten minutes, PM Modi commended the impactful reforms implemented by his government over the past nine years in India. With a tone of conviction, he asserted that India is on a trajectory to achieve a $5 trillion economy in the near future.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi highlighted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s remarks during the BRICS summit.
