COVID-19: 7 new cases reported in Kerala today

COVID-19 confirmed to 7 people in the state today. Three cases from Wayanad, 2 from Thrissur and one each from Ernakulam and Malappuram districts has been confirmed.

Patients from Thrissur and Malappuram districts are the ones boarded the flight from Abu Dhabi on the 7th. Two people in Wayanad district got infected through contact. One from Wayanad and one from Ernakulam came from Chennai.

The results of 4 people diagnosed with the disease turned negative today, 2 from Kannur district and one each from Palakkad and Kasaragod districts. 489 people have so far been cured COVID-19. About 20 people are under treatment in various hospitals.

A total of 26,712 people are under observation in various districts. Of these, 26,350 are under observation in homes and 362 in hospitals. A total of 135 people were hospitalized today. So far, a sample of 37,464 individuals (including the augmented sample) has been sent for test. Of the 36,630 sample results found negative. In addition, as part of Sentinel Surveillance, 3815 samples were collected from priority groups, such as health workers, guest workers, social contacts, and 3525 samples were negative.
