The Centre sends teams to six states, including Kerala, in which a high number of Covid cases have been reported.

Due to the high number of COVID-19 cases reported by these states, the Centre dispatched multi-disciplinary teams to Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Manipur on Friday.

Teams will assist states in carrying out a targeted Covid response and management, as well as effectively combating the pandemic, according to a statement from the Union Health Ministry.

The teams will immediately visit the states to monitor the overall implementation of COVID-19 management, particularly in testing, including surveillance and containment operations; COVID Appropriate Behaviour and its enforcement; hospital bed availability, adequate logistics, including ambulances, ventilators, medical oxygen, and so on; and COVID-19 vaccination progress.

The teams will monitor the situation and make recommendations for corrective actions, according to the statement.

The central teams will assess the situation and make recommendations to the respective state governments on public health activities.

Dr. L Swasticharan, Additional DDG and Director EMR will lead the team to Manipur; Dr. Sanjay Sadhukhan, Professor AIIH&PH, will lead the team to Arunachal Pradesh; Dr. RN Sinha, Public Health Specialist Gr. II, RoHFW, will lead the team to Kerala; Dr. Ruchi Jain, Public Health Specialist Gr. II, RoHFW, will lead the team to Odisha; Dr. A Dan, Public Health Specialist

As part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the efforts of various state and UT governments for Covid management, the Central Government has delegated Central teams to visit various states and UTs on a regular basis.

These teams interact with state and UT officials to gain a firsthand understanding of the challenges and issues they face in order to strengthen ongoing activities and remove bottlenecks, according to the statement.
