Reported 84 Fresh Cases Of COVID-19 In Kerala; 8 Got Recovered 

Thiruvananthapuram: Today 3 people have recovered. The Chief Minister said this in a press conference after the COVID review meeting. Out of the 84 new cases reported today, 18 are from Kasaragod district, 16 are from Palakkad, 10 are from Kannur, 8 are from Malappuram, 7 each is from Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, 6 each is from Kozhikode and Pathanamthitta, 3 are from Kottayam and one each from Kollam, Idukki and Alappuzha.A Telangana native died while three persons tested negative in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts, the CM added.

Out of the 84 coronavirus positive cases, 31 had returned from abroad. 48 had returned from other states (Maharashtra – 31, Tamil Nadu – 9, Gujarat – 2, Delhi – 2, Andhra Pradesh -1, Karnataka – 3). 5 people developed the disease through contact.

Till date, 1,088 persons have been confirmed with the disease out of which 526 are under treatment while 555 have recovered.

At present, 1,15,297 persons are kept under isolation in the state – 1,14,305 in-home or institutional quarantines and 992 in hospitals. As many as 210 persons were admitted to hospitals on Thursday.

Kerala has tested 60,685 samples (including augmented samples) till date out of which 58,460 have tested negative. Also out of the 9,937 samples tested as part of sentinel surveillance, 9,217 samples tested negative.

There are 6 new hotspots in Kerala – 3 in Kasaragod, 2 panchayats in Palakkad and Changanassery municipality in Kottayam. With this the total number of hotspots in the state increased to 82.

Currently, the number of flights arriving at the airport has increased. Each flight must be received separately. Travellers from other countries will not be allowed to come together because of the congestion. This will hamper the current settings. The minister also demanded that a mechanism to provide food to passengers be established. There are currently 50 international flights arriving at the airport. There are 45 domestic flights
