Vegetable farming in Raj Bhavan

‘Subhiksha Keralam’ a project to make Kerala self-sufficient in food production, as a part of that, farming was initiated on five-acre land in Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan inaugurated the mission by planting a vegetable sapling.

V S Sunil Kumar Minister for Agriculture also participated in the event. Tomato, cucumber, okra, pumpkin, snake gourd, chilli, papaya, banana, dragon fruit, tubers and many other crops are cultivated here. The agriculture department and Swasthi Foundation together initiated the vegetable farming in Raj Bhavan.

Mayor K Sreekumar, Deputy Mayor Rakhi Ravikumar, KILE chairperson V Sivankutty, Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis, former additional chief secretary P H Kurian, Chamber of Commerce and Industries district chairperson Raghuchandran Nair and Swasthi Foundation general secretary Aby George attended the function.
