Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the very popular cars in the Indian market. Since its first launch in 2015, the company has so far sold over 2.2 million units in the Indian market. Now, its third-generation model is available for sale in the Indian market which the company launched during the 2018 Auto Expo and it gives a tough competition to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Ford Figo in the Indian market.
Like Maruti, it has also updated its updated Swift to BS6 emission norms. As per the sources, the company is currently working on a powerful version of its Swift in which the company can offer 1.2-liter dual jet petrol engine.
Prior the launch of the BS6 model of Swift, it used to come with both petrol and diesel engine options. However, Maruti has removed the Fiat’s 1.3-liter diesel engine from all its cars, and now all its cars are coming with a petrol engine. The Swift is now coming with a 1.2-liter VVT petrol BS6 engine that generates 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine comes with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
