Kerala Weather Outlook: Rainfall Eases, Precautions Advised for Coastal Regions

Kerala is experiencing a gradual reduction in rainfall intensity, creating relatively dry conditions expected to persist until Sunday. While moderate rain is anticipated across the state, a shift is on the horizon. Starting Monday, the onset of the Tula monsoon is set to bring rain coupled with thunder and lightning, primarily in the northern regions and hilly areas.

As this transition approaches, cautionary measures are being emphasized, especially for fishermen and coastal residents. Authorities are warning about the potential of high waves and storm surges along the Kerala coastline, prompting the imposition of a fishing ban along the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts. However, it’s important to note that fishing activities are currently unrestricted along the coast of Karnataka.

To ensure the safety of residents, local administrations have implemented proactive measures. Relief camps, such as Konchiravila U and others in Thiruvananthapuram Taluk, P.S, Vettukad L. PS, and Govt. M. N. L. P., have been set up to offer support if required. Additionally, in response to the evolving weather conditions, the District Collector has declared a holiday for S Vellayani schools today, allowing residents to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official advisories. The collective efforts of authorities and residents are vital in mitigating potential risks associated with changing weather patterns and ensuring the safety of all individuals in the region.
