Temperature in Palakkad Crosses 41 Degrees; Summer Rains Expected Across Kerala

The temperature in Palakkad, Kerala, has soared to a record-breaking 41.1 degrees Celsius, marking the highest recorded temperature for the season in the state. Additionally, forecasts suggest that temperatures are expected to remain extreme throughout April, with Kollam reaching 39 degrees Celsius and other districts like Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Pathanamthitta hitting 38 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, projections indicate a potential rise in temperature by two degrees until the 11th of the month, raising concerns of severe drought, increased power consumption, and crop damage.

Apart from the hilly regions, hot and humid weather is anticipated across the state. In response to the scorching temperatures, isolated summer rains are forecasted in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Alappuzha districts, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Moreover, Kerala is bracing for summer rains expected across the state on Saturday, offering potential relief from the heatwave.
