Extended Closure of Kozhikode Educational Institutions Amid Nipah Outbreak

In response to the Nipah outbreak, all educational institutions in Kozhikode district will now remain shuttered until Saturday. Initially, the district administration had announced the closure of these institutions for Thursday and Friday. However, the Kozhikode District Collector, A Geetha, later revealed through a Facebook post that the closure would be extended to include Saturday as well.

During this period, educational institutions, including professional colleges, schools, anganwadis, and madrassas, are encouraged to arrange online classes to ensure continuity in students’ education.

This closure directive also encompasses tuition centers and coaching centers throughout the district. Nevertheless, university and PSC exams will proceed as scheduled, unaffected by the temporary closures.
