Controversy Surrounds Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration Guest List as VHP Invites Advani and Joshi

Controversy has arisen over the guest list for the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, as the Ram Temple Trust initially asked senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi not to attend the event due to their age and health concerns. The two leaders, who played pivotal roles in the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, were later personally invited by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Alok Kumar and RSS leaders Ramlal and Krishna Gopal, and both expressed their willingness to attend if their health permits. The inauguration, scheduled for January 22, will be marked by Prana Pratishtha Puja from January 16 to 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to perform the official opening.

The guest list for the event includes not only political figures but also spiritual leaders and celebrities. Notable invitees comprise spiritual leaders such as Mata Amritanandamayi and the Dalai Lama, actors Mohanlal, Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, and others, along with industrialists Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, ISRO Director Nilesh Desai, and cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. The Ayodhya Ram Temple’s inauguration is a significant event in India, and the guest list reflects a mix of political, spiritual, and cultural figures expected to grace the occasion.
