Kollam Child Abduction: Crime Branch Takes Over Investigation Amidst Questions on Police Version

The Crime Branch is set to take over the investigation into the Kollam child abduction case, where a six-year-old girl was kidnapped while returning home from tuition. The Rural District Crime Branch, led by DySP MM Jose, will spearhead the probe amidst rising questions about the police version of the crime. The accused family, KR Padmakumar, his wife Anitha Kumari, and their daughter Anupama Padman, were arrested, claiming financial distress as the motive. However, doubts persist, including discrepancies in the ransom demand and uncertainties about the family’s ability to execute such a crime without external assistance.

The case took a surprising turn as it raised questions about the authenticity of the police narrative. Alleged inconsistencies in the financial motive, ransom demand, and the family’s capacity to execute the crime independently have fueled skepticism. The Crime Branch’s involvement aims to address these concerns and ensure a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the Kollam child abduction case.
