Prithviraj announces his new film and explains how his daughter Ally influenced him.

Following the success of his debut film Lucifer, Prithviraj Sukumaran is working on his next project as a filmmaker. The actor published an unusual post on his social media page about the subject, revealing that he is considering returning to acting.

Alankrita aka Ally, his daughter, was the one who inspired him to do so.

She had written a brief narrative in her notepad which read, “Father and son lived in America. World war 2 happened and they shifted to a refugee camp. There they stayed for two years and the war ended. They went back home and lived happily ever after. The end.”

Despite the fact that Alankrita’s narrative was the greatest he heard during the lockdown, and because filming in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic was problematic, he sat down and developed a new script that could be shot despite various constraints.

He wrote, “This was the best storyline I heard during this lockdown. But since shooting this in the midst of a pandemic seemed an unlikely proposition, I chose another script. Yup. Thinking of getting behind the camera again. To do a film that I think can be pulled off under Covid restrictions and regulations. Details will follow soon #DirectionBugBites #Ally’sStories.”

Fans are now relieved that Prithvi chose to direct something other than Empuraan, the sequel to Mohanlal’s Lucifer. Despite the fact that the shoot was supposed to begin in mid-2020, it had to be postponed due to other commitments of the parties involved. In a recent interview, scriptwriter Murali Gopy announced that Empuraan will not begin filming till the end of 2021. With the second pandemic wave, however, it appears that Empuraan will take longer.

Meanwhile, he was busy preparing a number of films for distribution. While Cold Case has been announced as an OTT release, Kuruthi, Star, and Bhramam are his other significant films set to hit theatres.

He had begun filming for Aadujeevitham, Theerppu, Kaduva, and Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure before being placed under lockdown.
