Home remedies to get rid of gas trouble

Gas is  byproduct of your digestive function. Most people pass gas 14 times a day. But in some cases, too much gas can cause trouble, especially when you are unable to pass it.

Too much gas can build up in your intestines and you may experience bloating and get stomach cramps. Though in most cases, you won’t require any treatment but if you are too bloated and feel uncomfortable, here are a few home remedies to help you relieve gas .

Peppermint oil

Peppermint oil can improve the symptoms of IBS including diarrhoea, bloating, constipation and excessive gas. Peppermint has antispasmodic qualities, which stops your colon from having involuntary muscle contractions that can contribute to pain in stomach.

Apply heat

Using a heating pad can help relieve the stomach ache caused by excessive gas. A heating pad, heated up to 104 degrees can help relieve stomach ache up to an hour. This happens because your body switches on the heat receptors and deactivates some of the pain receptors.
