Ravana, the main villain in Ramayana, is believed to have been one of the greatest kings to rule the island country of Lanka. Popular as Lankesh , Ravana was perhaps the most knowledgeable rulers. Read on to know more about some of the qualities of Ravana.

Lankesh was the great-grandson of Lord Brahma, the grandson of Sage Pulastya  He was born to sage Vishrava and to his second-wife Kaikesi. Small wonder that Ravana was one of the most knowledgeable men to have walked the earth.

His head represents negative traits such as Kama – (Lust), Krodha -(Anger), Moha – (Fascination), Lobha – (Greed), Mada – (Delusion), Matsarya (Hatred/ Envy), Swartha – (Self-serving), Anyaya – (Unfairness), Amanavata – (Inhumaneness) and Ahankara – (Ego).
