Ace director Shankar had made his Kollywood debut in 1993 with Gentleman starring Arjun in the lead. The vigilante action film, which had Arjun playing a version of Robinhood, tackled corruption in the education system. After two decades, the film is still considered as one of the most powerful vigilante films ever written in Indian cinema.
The movie was huge a box office success, running for over 175 days at theatres and won four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. Now after 27 years, the film’s producer KT Kunjumon has announced a sequel to Gentleman. KT Kunjumon took to Twitter to announce the same. “Happy to announce the sequel for Mega blockbuster Gentleman. #Gentleman2 Produced by #GentlemanFilmInternational (sic).”
Makers are planning Gentleman 2 to be shot on a lavish scale, using all the latest technologies. It will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. An official announcement regarding the film’s cast and crew is yet to come.
