Captivity cannot be justified at any cost, according to the Women’s Commission of Nenmara.

M C Josephine, the chairperson of the State Women’s Commission in Palakkad, stated that there are some unbelievable facts behind the incident in which a man named Rahman secretly hid his lover Sajitha in his house in Nenmara for ten years.

Captivity, no matter what amenities are provided, cannot be justified. The storey of Sajitha and Rahman is unusual, and it is the first of its kind in Kerala. They both denied having any problems in their lives. So, she reacted, let them live happily ever after.

After learning about the incident in the media, the Women’s Commission stepped in. We thought about a woman who had to wait until nightfall to do her basic routines, Josephine said.

Any adult man and woman can love and live together. However, the manner in which Rahman chose to do so sends the wrong message to society. The Women’s Commission representatives responded that people should not glorify Rahman’s actions and ideas.

Members of the Women’s Commission paid a visit to Sajitha and Rahman’s home in Nenmara and spoke with them. When asked why they didn’t leave the room and lived outside, both of them said they feared their families and society.
