Beware! ‘Smoking is the most significant risk factor among young heart patients,’ say doctors

Heart problems are becoming more common among young patients these days. Doctors believe that smoking is the root cause of the majority of heart diseases in children under the age of 45.

Dr. Alkesh Jain, Cardiologist at Medanta Hospital in Indore (Madhya Pradesh), told this reporter that “smoking is the biggest factor for heart-related issues among youngsters.” “Approximately 3% to 4% of Indians suffer from heart-related problems.” “The data is the same among the youth, with approximately three out of every hundred youngsters having heart-related issues,” Dr. Jain said.

He went on to say that heart disease has been on the rise in children recently. He claims that, while smoking is a major contributor, it is not the only cause. Dr. Jain elaborated, saying, “Dietary habits and a lack of exercise are also major factors behind it.” Heart disease, on the other hand, is hereditary in many cases. For example, if a person’s parent had a heart problem when they were younger (in their 30s or 40s), the person should have it around the same age. As a result, we recommend that they have executive health check-ups after the age of 25.”

Keep an eye out for the following symptoms:
Chest pain or pain in the left arm
After 10 or 15 minutes of exercise, you may experience shortness of breath.
Walking in pain
Lower jaw discomfort

‘70% to 80% of heart-related deaths can be avoided,’ according to Dr. Jain, if preventive measures such as regular check-ups, a healthy diet, and a healthy lifestyle are maintained, 70% to 80% of heat-related deaths can be avoided.

The menstrual cycle protects women from heart disease: While menstruating, women are naturally protected from heart disease. According to Dr. Jain, menopausal women are just as susceptible to heart disease as men. At the same time, diabetic menstruating women are more likely to develop heart disease.
