Devotees Throng Ayodhya’s Ram Temple After ‘Pran Pratishtha’ Ceremony

Following the culmination of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on Monday, a surge of devotees has gathered outside the main gate of the Shri Ram Temple to offer prayers on Tuesday. The heavy rush began early in the morning, with devotees arriving as early as 3 a.m. to seek blessings and have Darshan of Shri Ram Lalla, marking the first morning after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

Devotees are flocking to the grand Ram Temple, which has now been opened to the public. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla took place amidst exuberant celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducting the main rituals, assisted by a select group of priests.

The grandeur of the celebrations extended beyond Ayodhya, with events held across the country to commemorate Lord Ram’s return to his throne. Ayodhya, also known as ‘Ram Nagri,’ garnered global attention as earthen lamps (diyas) illuminated the city on a massive scale, and fireworks lit up the night sky.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony occurred at 12.29 pm on Monday, following a seven-day ritual that commenced on January 16. Representatives from various spiritual and religious sects, as well as individuals from diverse backgrounds, attended the ceremony.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, built in the traditional Nagara style, boasts dimensions of 380 feet (east-west) and 250 feet (north-south). Rising 161 feet above the ground, the temple features 392 pillars and 44 doors. The intricately sculpted pillars and walls showcase depictions of Hindu deities.

In the sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the idol of Shri Ramlalla, representing the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram, has been enthroned. The grand opening of the temple to the public signifies the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the revered site.
