In 24 hours, India records 40,120 new COVID-19 cases and 585 deaths

New Delhi: India has registered 40,120 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall caseload to more than 3.20 crore. While the country registered 585 fatalities, the death toll now stands at nearly 4.3 lakh.
Currently, India’s active infections total 3.85 lakh, accounting for 1.20 percent of overall cases. It has dropped to its lowest level since March 2020.

With 42,295 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the overall number of recoveries in the country now stands at 3,13,02,345. At 97.46 percent, it is the highest recovery rate ever achieved.

The daily positivity rate is 2.04%, and the weekly positivity rate is 2.13 percent.
