Kerala records 30,491 new COVID 19 cases, 128 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 30,491 new COVID cases on Thursday, informed a press release issued by the health department. 128 new fatalities were also confirmed.

With this, the death toll mounted to 6852. The test positivity rate was recorded at 23.18 percent.

Meanwhile, 44,369 recoveries were also reported in the state.

With this, the number of active cases touched 3,17,850 in the state. 19,38,887 people recovered from the disease so far.

9,99,338 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this 9,60,653 are under home/institutional quarantine and 38,685 people are in hospitals. 3972 people were taken to hospitals on Thursday.

Five new places were added to the list of hotspots on Thursday and one place was removed from the list. Currently, there are 866 hotspots in the state.
