AICTE has approved bachelor- level engineering studies in eight regional languages including Malayalam

Now you can join engineering without fear of English. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved colleges to study engineering in eight languages including Malayalam. The study is possible from the new school year, which begins in June. Apart from Malayalam, languages like Marathi, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, and Kannada are permitted.

This facility has also been provided so that students enrolled in studies from rural and tribal areas can get an education without language being a barrier. Many bright students are staying away from engineering studies if English is compulsory.

Countries like Germany, France, Russia, Japan, and China provide full education in the official language.

The goal is to enable students to master the basics. Authorities say more than 500 applications have been received from across the country. Authority Said that they have plans to offer undergraduate studies in 11 other languages ​​in the future.

Study materials in these languages are provided by AICTE. They will also be made available in the Massiv Open Online Course (MOOC).

The facility will also be provided in traditional engineering disciplines such as mechanical, engineering, civil and electrical. Only N.B.A.-approved collages are permitted to teach these. These colleges must also have a higher rank in their respective states.

Batches up to 30 or 60 students can be admitted. Either new teachers who are proficient in teaching in the local language should be newly appointed, or existing teachers should be trained. Students can teach in the language they choose. In a survey conducted in Tamil Nadu ahead of the decision, 42 percent of the respondents preferred their mother tongue.
