Kerala Chief Minister to Lead Protest Against Centre’s Financial Measures

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has announced a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on February 8, denouncing what they term a “financial embargo” imposed by the Centre. The LDF alleges that the Centre’s measures are crippling the state’s finances and hindering its development initiatives. Despite an invitation from the Chief Minister to the United Democratic Front (UDF) leaders to join the protest, there has been no response from the UDF so far.

The LDF plans to convey its concerns about fiscal federalism and fair treatment by writing to Union Ministers, chief ministers of other states, and political leaders across the country. The protest is expected to bring attention to the alleged financial challenges faced by Kerala due to the policies of the central government, with state ministers, MLAs, and MPs participating in the demonstration.
