Kerala CM writes to PM Modi, demanding intervention over border restrictions with Karnataka

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his interference over travel restrictions imposed by Karnataka on passengers arriving from Kerala.

Karnataka has asked Covid-19 negative certificates for all people entering the state from Kerala. The state had also allegedly closed its check posts at Kerala border.

“Many people including students, trucks with important commodities and patients are under hardship due to the restriction at the state boarder,” Kerala CM Vijayan wrote in the letter on Tuesday.

He pointed out that the restriction by Karnataka government is contrary to the instructions of the Indian government. CM Vijayan sought PM Modi’s urgent intervention regarding this matter.
