Actor Kamal Haasan, who founded the Makkal Needhi Maiyam (MMM) striving to have a third front in Tamil Nadu politics, will contest from the Coimbatore South constituency, actor announced on today.
“I see in the battle in Coimbtatore South, a battle for the soil, language and people of Tamil Nadu. It is not me who will win this, it will be all of Tamil,” he posted on twitter.
The MNM, which has said it wants to give the Tamil voters an alternative to the two Dravidian parties, had earlier announced about 70 candidates from many constituencies in the poll-bound state.
Coimbatore south is headed for an interesting election battele as it is one of the five constituencies in the state that will see a direct BJP-Congress face-off. Kamal’s entry, might make this battle all the more interesting.
