Jamie Spears, Britney Spears’ father, has been removed from his daughter’s conservatorship.

Washington: After a long wait, a US court has finally ruled in Britney Spears’ favour. Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears has been removed from the conservatorship that has governed the pop singer’s life and estate for the past 13 years, according to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny.

According to Variety, Penny has appointed an accountant, John Zabel, to take temporary control of the estate until the next steps are determined. “The suspension, in my opinion, is in the best interests of the conservative. The current state of affairs is unsustainable “The judge stated this while dismissing the decision.

Britney’s conservatorship began in 2008 after the singer publicly revealed several mental breakdowns. For more than a decade, her father Jamie Spears served as conservator of her estate and personal manager, but he temporarily stepped down as manager of her person in 2019 due to his own health issues.

Jodi Montgomery has been filling in for him for the past two years. Earlier this year, Britney and her attorney filed an official court petition to have Jamie removed as conservator of the songstress’ estate.

Britney’s fans reportedly held a rally outside the court on Wednesday before the hearing, singing her classic songs. The case’s next hearing is scheduled for November 12.
