False propaganda that if the vaccine is taken, will die within two years; know the truth.

WhatsApp forward doing the rounds says French virologist and Nobel Prize Winner Luc Montagnier has called mass vaccination an ‘unacceptable mistake’ and that ‘all vaccinated people will die in 2 years.’

The message, which even anti-Vaccine opponents are likely to dismiss at first hearing, fills the field with the creditability of being a ‘Nobel Prize-winning’ virologist.

Yes, Luc Montagnier is the recipient of the Nobel Prize. He won the prize as a team-mate who found HIV making AIDS.

What is the viral post all about?

According to the tweet shared by the Centre, the fake news post quoting Luc Montagnier read, “All vaccinated people will die within two years. Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier has confirmed that there is no chance of survival for people who have received any form of the vaccine.

In the shocking interview, the world’s leading virologist stated bluntly: “There is no hope and possible treatment for those who have already been vaccinated. We must be prepared to cremate the bodies.” The scientific genius backed up the claims of other eminent virologists after studying the ingredients of the vaccine. “They will all die from antibody-dependent enhancement. That is all can be said,” the viral post further read.

However, a PIB fact check has confirmed that this claim is fake and that the vaccine is completely safe.

Taking to Twitter, PIB wrote, “An image allegedly quoting a French Nobel Laureate on COVID-19 vaccines is circulating on social media. The claim in the image is FAKE. COVID-19 Vaccine is completely safe. Do not forward this image #PIBFactCheck.”

Montagnier has reportedly promoted several controversial and unverified claims surrounding COVID-19 and vaccinations in recent times.

The Indian government has time and again asserted that vaccines are completely safe and are crucial in the fight against the pandemic.
