Go First will begin flights to Doha from Kochi and Kannur on Thursday

New Delhi: Go First, formerly known as GoAir, announced on Wednesday that it will begin flights connecting Doha, Qatar, with Mumbai, Kochi, and Kannur, India, on Thursday.

According to a press release, Go First will operate direct flights four times a week between Mumbai and Doha, with passengers able to take advantage of flights twice a week on the Kochi Doha Kochi and Kannur Doha Kannur routes.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, scheduled international passenger flights have been suspended in India since March 23 of last year.

However, since July of last year, special international passenger flights have been operating from India under air bubble agreements formed with 28 countries, including Qatar.

“I believe that our operations in the Gulf region have received an exceptional response,” said Kaushik Khona, CEO of Go First, “and the launch of the Doha sector is in line with our growth plans.”

“Qatar and India have always shared a special bond founded on friendship, business, and diplomacy,” he said.

Go First stated that to commemorate the launch of services to Qatar, it is offering inaugural return fares beginning at Rs 26,666 on the Mumbai-Doha Mumbai route, Rs 37,118 on the Kochi-Doha Kochi route, and Rs 32,332 on the Kannur-Doha Kannur route.
