US to waive vaccine patent; The WHO said the decision was historic

Washington: As the world suffocates, the United States is preparing to suspend the patent for a vaccine as allegations spread around the world that some of the companies that make the covid vaccine are amassing billions of dollars in wealth. On Wednesday, the Joe Biden administration came out in solidarity with the persistent demand of several countries to waive the covid vaccine patent.

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adanom Gabriosis, described Biden’s decision as historic. As the spread of covid became more severe and deaths increased, countries including India and South Africa demanded that the patent be waived to end the vaccine shortage.

More companies can make vaccines if they can avoid patent restrictions. They will be available to the people of the world very soon. The decision comes amid repeated calls by Democrats and more than 100 countries to temporarily freeze vaccine patents from US companies and allow more companies to produce them.

The U.S. is pushing for the suspension of the vaccine patent, despite opposition from American pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Modena and Pfizer, one of the world’s largest biopharmaceutical companies. The White House has said the Kovid epidemic is a global health crisis and requires extraordinary action at extraordinary times.

Rich countries make vaccines and give preference to their own citizens. Although the vaccine is not manufactured, rich countries spend large sums to buy it and make it available to the public. But for the vast majority of countries in the world, neither is possible. They have no money and no vaccine. With this came a strong demand for waiving the vaccine patent.
