Covid Defense: Foreign medical aid begins to arrive, relief to Delhi

 

The test positivity rate in Delhi has dropped to 26.37 percent. On April 22, the positivity rate was 36.24 percent.

New Delhi: Medical facilities from foreign countries have started arriving at various hospitals, including in the national capital. The aid came from more than 14 countries, including Russia, the United States, Italy, and Thailand. Medications, oxygen facilities, and ventilators are most likely to arrive.

The test kits from the US reached the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, the Italian oxygen plant at ITBP Hospital was completed and the oxygen concentrators supplied by Ireland were handed over to the Government Hospital in Chandigarh.

In addition, there is the support of private entrepreneurs. The team under the Secretary of Health is responsible for the distribution of foreign aid. The Ministry of Health had said that the deployment of supplies would take into account the needs and urgency of the states. The Foreign Minister said that the support received during the reversal of the 16-year foreign aid policy was a testament to the friendship of the world community with India.

The decline in the positivity rate in Delhi after a month of terror is also a great relief. The test positivity rate in Delhi has dropped to 26.37 percent.
