Kerala Reports 38,460 Covid Cases today, 54 deaths; Test positivity 26.64%

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said at a press conference here on Friday that covid had confirmed 38,460 people in the state. During the last 24 hours, 1,44,345 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 26.64.

No one from the UK, South Africa, or Brazil has confirmed covid-19 in the past 24 hours. Covid 19 has so far been confirmed by 124 people from the UK (115), South Africa (8), and Brazil (1). Of these, 114 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

It has been confirmed today that 54 deaths in the last few days were due to covid-19. This brings the total death toll to 5,682. Of those diagnosed with the disease, 370 were from outside the state. 35,402 people were infected through contact. The contact source for 2573 is not clear. Ernakulam 5238, Kozhikode 4067, Thiruvananthapuram 3657, Malappuram 3615, Thrissur 3711, Kannur 2981, Palakkad 1332, Kollam 2411, Alappuzha 2153, Kottayam 1981, Pathanamthitta 1130, Wayanad 1127, Idukki 1091, and Kasaragod 908 were affected by the disease.

115 health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers in Kannur 29, Wayanad 14, Thrissur 13, Ernakulam, Kasargod 12, Kozhikode 9, Pathanamthitta 7, Palakkad 6, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam 5, and Idukki 3 were affected. With this, 4,02,650 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 14,16,177 have so far been freed from covid.
There are currently 10,50,633 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 10,20,652 are under home / institutional quarantine and 29,981 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 61,036 people were newly monitored today. There are 65 new hotspots on Friday. No area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 788 hotspots.
