The number of critically ill patients in the state is on the rise, with 274 people admitted to the ICU in 24 hours

 

Thiruvananthapuram: The number of critically ill covid patients in the state has increased in a single day, according to the health department. In 24 hours, 274 people were admitted to the ICU and 331 to the ventilator.

This is the first time such an increase since the covid expansion began. Currently, 2323 patients are being treated in ICUs and 1138 in ventilators. There are 508 ventilator ICUs, 285 ventilators, and 1661 oxygen beds vacant in the public and private sectors across the state.

Situation In eight panchayats in the district, the covid test pass rate has risen to over 50 percent. The situation is dire in Kochi Corporation and municipalities. The lockdown announced by Kerala has started to prevent the spread of the disease.
