PM Modi Urges Lighting of Diyas for Ram Temple Consecration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the public to celebrate the consecration ceremony of the historic Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22 by lighting special diyas (lamps) at home. Emphasizing the significance of the event, he called for people to observe ‘Deepawali’ on that day, marking the ‘pran pratishtha’ at the Ram temple. PM Modi highlighted the importance of development (‘vikas’) and heritage (‘virasat’), stating that their joint strength would propel India forward in the 21st century. He appealed to Ayodhya residents to make the city the cleanest in India and requested a cleanliness drive at all religious sites and temples across the country from January 14 to 22.

The prime minister also flagged off the Amrit Bharat sleeper non-AC train, inaugurated a renovated railway station and airport in Ayodhya, and made a surprise visit to the 10th-crore beneficiary of the Ujjwala Yojana. PM Modi recognized December 30 as a significant day in history, as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the flag in Andaman in 1943. He noted that the city of Ayodhya was energizing the campaign for building a developed India, and the consecration ceremony on January 22 was awaited worldwide. Modi encouraged pilgrimages and parikramas, highlighting the ongoing construction work in Ayodhya to enhance the experience for devotees.
