The High Court has stayed the OTT release of the Malayalam movie Aquarium

Kochi: The High Court has stayed the OTT release of the Malayalam movie Aquarium. The Voice of the Nuns had approached the High Court alleging that the film was insulting to nuns. Following this, the court stayed the release of the film for ten days.

The film was scheduled to release on May 14. Following the written petition filed by Voice of Nuns, the High Court stayed the release of the film. The complaint alleges that the aquarium changed the name of the previously banned film Father and Son. The film, which was shot in 2013 under the title Father and Son, was not approved by the Censor Board.

The film was included in the list of banned films after the Censor Board rejected the Kerala component, the revision committee, and the appellate tribunal. It was renamed in 2020 and resubmitted to the Censor Board. It is learned that the certificate was obtained by misleading the members of the censor board.
