Haridasan, 65,and Krishnaveni, 58 are proving that age is not a barrier to doing things they love.

Haridasan, 65, and  Krishnaveni, 58, of  Elathur, are proving that age is not a barrier to doing things they love.

The photoshoot of the couple celebrating their retirement life amid the isolation and boredom of the Covid era has gone viral on social media.

Haridasan was resting on the ground floor after lunch when he received a message from his wife. ‘Shall we have a photoshoot?’ Krishnaveni asked her hubby.

‘Yes’, Haridasan replied without any doubt.

Later, the couple phoned photographer Rakesh who is one of their relatives.

The photoshoot has given great relaxation to the couple who had a tough time with isolation and boredom during the lockdown.

Elathur Chettikulam native Haridasan and his wife Krishnaveni got ready for the photoshoot like a newly married couple. Giving a tough competition to the new generation, the aged couple surprised all with their stunning looks despite old age.

The photoshoot was held at Chettikulam Bazar beach in the background of a toddy shop.

Krishnaveni styled her look in ‘Chatta and Mundu’, a traditional outfit used by Christian women.

Haridasan was seen in a T-shirt and dhoti matching his wife’s outfit. Stylish shoes and cooling glasses completed their look.

Following the photo shoot, they shared the pics with their daughters and sons-in-law. The couple have two daughters Amitha and Anjali. The duo and husbands extended support to the couple and lauded their effort.

“We want to convey the message that life should be celebrated. Most of them spend life in a fixed format like getting married, giving birth, taking care of grandchildren, and expecting death. But that is not life. We should celebrate life irrespective of age,” said Krishnaveni.

Haridasan is a retired employee from the Shipping Corporation of India. Krishnaveni is a housewife.

Their daughters are settled in Dubai with their family

At first, I thought I should give a surprise to my children. It was meant to convey the message that life is not meant to be lived just like that. In our country, after marriage, raising children, and then looking after their children, the next step is to live somehow until death.

In this photoshoot, we are trying to convey that life is to be enjoyed at any age, ”says Krishnaveni.

There is also opposition from some quarters to the pictures made against the backdrop of the toy shop’s graphics. But it was only used to enhance the photos. The couple says in unison that there is no need to think beyond that. Haridasan and Krishnaveni have decided to ignore the bad comments and move forward with positive thoughts.
