At Imphal airport, a man was arrested for concealing gold paste worth Rs 42 lakh in his rectum

IMPHAL: The CISF apprehended a passenger at Imphal Airport for concealing gold paste worth Rs 42 lakh in his rectum. According to a CISF statement, the man was arrested on Monday at the Imphal Airport for concealing the gold paste, weighing over 900 gm and valued at approximately Rs 42 lakh.

The man was apprehended after alert CISF officials discovered metal inside a passenger’s rectal cavity while frisking him at the airport.

Following that, four packets of yellow metal paste weighing approximately 909.68 gm were recovered, according to the CISF.

Mohammed Shereef, the arrested passenger, was identified.

He is from Kerala’s Kozhikode and was scheduled to fly from Imphal to Delhi on Monday at 2:40 p.m. on an Air India flight.

Suspicious of his actions and responses, CISF personnel took him to the Medical Examination Room for an X-Ray of his lower body.

The X-Ray showed concealed metallic items inside his body cavity.
