Monsoon Early in Kerala; New low pressure will rise tomorrow and heavy rain till 25

The southwest monsoon is likely to reach Kerala on the 31st of this month. The monsoon reached the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is estimated that it will reach Kerala soon.

The southwest monsoon is likely to set in over Kerala during the next two weeks between May 27 and June 2.

A low-pressure area is very likely to form over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining the east central Bay of Bengal around May 22. It is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by May 24.

It is very likely to move northwestwards and reach the north Bay of Bengal near Odisha-West Bengal Coast around May 26 morning.

It is this low pressure that later causes Hurricane Yas. Heavy rains are expected in the southern districts from Saturday. It will rain on the 24th and 25th. A yellow alert has been issued in seven districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam on the 24th and in eight districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Thrissur on the 25th.
