In an encounter in Pulwama, J&K, five Lashkar terrorists and one army jawan were killed.

On Friday, at least five Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists and an Army jawan were killed in a clash between ultras and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama area.

According to a police officer, security personnel conducted a cordon and search operation at Hanjin hamlet in the Rajpora area of the district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists there. Terrorists opened fire on security officers, who replied, he added, turning the search into an encounter.

According to the official, one soldier was hurt in the initial exchange of fire with terrorists, and the jawan succumbed to his injuries at a hospital here.

According to the official, reinforcements were rushed to the location, and at least five terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire.

He stated the identities of the murdered ultras were being determined, and that they were members of the Lashkar-e-Toiba gang.

He noted that the operation was still ongoing and that more information was pending.
