Kerala to extend lockdown till june 9

The lockdown in the state is likely to be extended to June 9. The Chief Minister will announce the final decision in this regard. The test positivity rate in the state was 16.5 per cent yesterday. Experts say the restrictions should continue until it falls below 10 per cent.

The lockdown will continue but further concessions will be made so as not to affect the lives of the common man. Gold shops, textile shops, slipper shops, shops selling children’s goods, etc. will be permitted to operate with restrictions. Home delivery will also be encouraged.

Small businesses will be allowed to work with 50 per cent of the workforce. Discounts may also be granted to spare parts stores.  Toddy shops may be allowed to operate with restrictions. Bars are open only after lockdown.
