Triple Lockdown in Malappuram District withdrawn

The triple lockdown in the Malappuram district has been withdrawn in the wake of the Covid expansion. As in other districts, there will be a normal lockdown in Malappuram from Monday. The lockdown was extended to June 9 with concessions across the state.

The triple lockdown was announced in the state in four districts, including Malapuram, following the extreme spread of covid. But the triple download in three other districts was withdrawn a week ago as the test positivity rate fell. TPR has also come down considerably by this week. The test positivity rate in Malappuram is 13.3 percent on Friday.

At the same time, the district collector has not lifted the strict restriction announced by Malappuram on Sunday. Shops selling essentials will also not open tomorrow.
