Long term plans will be formulated for the manufacture of vaccines in the state; CM

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that long term plans will be formulated for the manufacture of vaccines in the state. He made this clear at a press conference.

Vaccine companies are interested in setting up units of vaccine, manufacturing companies using the site of the life science park in connection with the Institute of Virology. The Chief Minister also explained that he would consider the matter.

The state is expected to get more vaccines in the first week of June. If received, vaccination will be intensified.

The maximum vaccine will be given by June 15. The vaccine will be given to all elderly people as soon as possible. In tribal colonies, vaccination will be completed as much as possible for those above 45 years of age. A plan is being drawn up to provide vaccine to all bed patients.

It has been noticed that when the vaccination certificate is issued to the expatriate on the mobile phone, the OTP message goes only to the Aadhaar linked mobile. Most people do not associate their mobile number with Aadhaar. Therefore, a system will be considered to give OTP to the existing mobile number

When the vaccination began to be given to people between the ages of 18 and 44, the order issued on May 19 gave priority to 32 categories of people. As per the new order issued on May 24, 11 new categories have been added. It also included those who had to go abroad for employment and study. The District Medical Officers were tasked with issuing the required certificates to them, including the passport number. The CM also said that the office of the District Medical Officer should be contacted with the details of the visa, work and study requirements required to obtain the certificate.
